Spring vibes with the May Blossom Fizz cocktail

It’s been a long wet and cold winter, but as May approaches the sunlight is already teasing us with bluer skies and lighter evenings.

While it might not quite be BBQ weather, at least not for a few weeks, it’s getting warm enough to sit out and enjoy the sun and what better way to do it then with a light cocktail that can be made with or without alcohol.

We’ve put together another fantastic cocktail receipe perfect for vibing on a warm patio or decking.

May Cocktail with Hocus Dry Gin

The May Day cocktail is a celebration of the vibrant flavors of spring.

Ingredients

50 ml Hocus Dry Gin (mixed with spirit base)
15ml Elderflower Liquer
15ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml simple syrup
2-3 Strawberries
Sparkling water
Mint leaves (for garnish)



Method

In a cocktail shaker add the sliced stawberries and shake to release flavours and juice.

Add the gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to the cocktail shaker.

Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes – shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.

Add a splash of sparkling water for the ‘fizz’ and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Serve and enjoy!”



Low alcohol version

The May Blossom Fizz cocktail drink can easily be made almost alcohol-free without impacting the taste.

Substitute the elderflower iquer with elkderflower cordial.

Make the Hocus Dry Gin with 50ml tonic water (instead of the spirit as per instructions) via the gin dispenser spray or ampoule.
