What is low alcohol gin?
Low alcohol gin is exactly what it sounds like: gin with a lower alcohol content than traditional gin. While traditional gin usually has an alcohol content of around 40%, Hocus low alcohol gin has an alcohol content approaching zero (Hocus low alcohol gin has an ABV of <0.5). How is low alcohol gin made?
For most low alcohol gin brands the basic process is, in general, the same as traditional gin. The difference lies in the alcohol content, which is achieved through the use of a variety of techniques. One technique involves distilling the gin for a shorter period of time, which allows for a lower alcohol content. Another technique involves using a lower proof alcohol as a base, which can also lower the alcohol content of the final product.
